Not The Brightest Bulb In The Box!
Posted on | June 19, 2008
OK, so those who know me know I love to read. A good book and me are the best of buddies.
So, I ran out of things to read as I’d left my satchel in a car with my friend Erik’s book, “Small Magics” so I rummaged through my stack of “bought but not read pile” and found this one I’d bought years ago.![]()
Now the cover is lovely.
The title is interesting.
Hell, Newsweek said, “[A] science fiction masterpiece.”
Oh and Frank Herbert is quoted as saying, “What got to me was the quality of the storytelling. She’s taken the mythology, psychology - the entire creative surround - and woven it into a jewel of a story.” That’s Frank Herbert talking there!
Oh it’s also won a HUGO and NEBULA AWARD.
So maybe I’m not so smart.
I just don’t get it. And I’m trying. It’s filled with bizarre concepts and I’m telling you, you gotta be smart to read this.
Sigh, I hate being dim.

OK, I’ve had one person say that she’s brilliant and one person say not so much.
I’m giving up the book.
I don’t like to give up on things but I’ll give up on this.
Seriously, it’s like pulling teeth.
